You never feel safe wagering on teams like DePaul, but they have slowly improved under head coach Chris Holtmann and take on a Marquette team that seems to have lost its way. Top rebounder Ben Gold missed the last game with an ankle injury, and his status is in question for tonight’s contest. The Golden Eagles have been one of the worst teams against the spread this year. Much of it has to do with the oddsmakers simply not knowing where to set their line, as head coach Shaka Smart doesn’t seem to have the talent to be one of the better teams in the conference, something that has been a given for them the last few seasons. DePaul forward N.J. Benson is playing well on the boards as his presence complements a guard-heavy Blue Demons team led by CJ Gunn and Layden Blocker. Look for the more experienced Blue Demons to do enough on their home floor to secure the win. Take DePaul.
