With only one game on the board, it’s hard to call an edge; both teams are sending their aces to the mound after last night’s taxing extra-inning thriller. If either starter struggles, fatigued bullpens could be forced into action earlier than expected. The Brewers hope Jacob Misiorowski can pitch deep into the night. The imposing 6’7″ right-hander can reach 105 mph and is a nightmare for opposing hitters. Many wanted to see him in extra innings last night when the Brewers held the lead. Meanwhile, Drew Rasmussen will be pitching on short rest for the first time in his career, adding another layer of uncertainty. Nick Martinez logged significant work last night, further complicating bullpen management. With both pitching staffs coming off a demanding game, we could see some unconventional situations where pitchers are forced to work through jams they might otherwise avoid. This doesn’t necessarily have to turn into a high-scoring affair. A game with a scoring pattern similar to last night’s could be enough to push us over the total. With tired arms and potentially unusual pitching decisions if either starter struggles. Take the Over.
