Rotation # 686
USC -6.5 over Seton Hall (loss)
Early-season non-conference basketball is next to impossible to predict, as most teams are playing in exotic locations with weird start times. It’s been an absolute annihilation for yours truly in the first two weeks of the season. Both Seton Hall and USC come into today’s game with perfect records. Seton Hall has looked sharp, due to its more favorable schedule; they should get a lot of credit for their win over NC State yesterday. USC plays solid defense, and on offense plays with a pace that can get some of the Seton Hall starters into foul trouble. The Pirates are a guard-heavy team, and the jury is still out on their big men. Seton Hall is also missing size, as a few players are not at 100% or have yet to play so far this season. USC has size at the guard position, and Rodney Rice and Chad Baker-Mazara are much bigger than your average guard. Baker-Mazara plays like he is a seven-footer and should get to the foul line a lot. Ezra Ausar and Jacob Coffie need to use their size to their advantage and clean up on the boards. Take USC.

Rotation # 671
Michigan -4.5 over Auburn (win)
Michigan has looked hot and cold this year, but they were grown men amongst children last night against San Diego State in their 40-point win. Auburn played a tremendous second half against Oregon, but the Ducks were better on the glass. Michigan is not only long, but they will have the physical advantage on just about every team they play. The Wolverines play hard on the defensive end and can hit you with pace on offense. Auburn head coach Steven Pearl has done an excellent job so far taking over for his dad, but I am not ready to put him on the same level as Michigan coach Dusty May. Aday Mara will look to deflect the Tigers’ shots in the paint and limit 2nd-chance points. The Wolverines are not a flashy offense, but it’s next to impossible to disrupt shots from multiple bigs spread across the court. Take Michigan.
