Memphis -4 over Virginia (loss)
New Virginia Head Coach Ron Sanchez has not mastered the defense like the departed Tony Bennett. The Cavs are a work in progress on both sides of the ball. Memphis is battle-tested, as they have played a challenging schedule to start the year, and they can outpace Virginia. Memphis coach Penny Hardaway did a great job in the transfer portal with guards Tyrese Hunter, PJ Haggerty, and Colby Rogers. Memphis is a veteran team that has better shooters on the floor. The Cavs have not yet mastered defending the three-point line. I am confident the experienced Tigers team won’t cough the ball up to beat themselves. Virginia has decent size, but they need better shooters to keep pace for forty minutes. Take Memphis.
