The Rays have the best home record in the American League this season and are built for this stadium. I don’t like wagering at this price, but in the postseason, every run matters. Tampa Bay has the mound advantage with Freddy Peralta facing Shawn Armstrong. The Guardians will attempt to make this a bullpen game, something we see more often in modern baseball. The days of two established starters going head-to-head for seven innings may be in the rearview mirror. Cleveland’s bullpen has been solid, but I don’t like relying on multiple relievers with a trip to the World Series on the line. Peralta has a 0.99 ERA over his last five home starts and should succeed against a Guardians lineup that has hit below average against righties this season. He already shut down Cleveland in Game 2, tossing six scoreless innings. Take the Rays.
