Saints -7 over Chargers (loss)
Tonight is a scenario in which you are not so much betting on the Saints as you are NOT betting on the Chargers. This is a team that now is on their backup QB. Justin Herbert is a rookie playing on the road. Next up the Chargers are without their top running back in Austin Ekeler. Let’s dissect a little bit more. This offensive line is missing 80% of their opening day starters. Left Tackle Sam Tevi is the only guy in his natural position. The left guard moved to center after Mike Pouncey got hurt and both the right guard and right tackle are out of tonight’s line up. These scenarios do not pop up much in the NFL. I don’t care if the Chargers find a way to cover tonight. It’s about playing the scenarios and in the long run you will win more games betting against these factors. The Saints still have a hall of fame QB, Alvin Kamara is an all star running back and the offensive line is a lot more secure. The Saints do have their flaws, but at home I believe they put this Chargers team away. Take the Saints.
