Rotation # 483-484
Giants/Patriots Over 46.5 (win)
The Giants sit at 2-10, but they have remained competitive. There are fewer than a handful of good teams this year, as the majority of the NFL is mediocre. Interim Head Coach Mike Kafta is seeking the permanent head coach role with the organization. A win in Foxboro could help. QB Jaxson Dart will return tonight. You would think a team that has nothing to play for wouldn’t risk injury to the future of their team, but the Giants have a lot to play for. Mike Kafta is the offensive coordinator and will take an offensive approach, as it’s in his nature, being a former QB. The Giants’ overall fast tempo of play doesn’t drain the clock like a Vikings team does. Nothing hurts bettors’ dreams quite like a team taking every last second off the play clock before they snap the ball. Dart is a mobile QB, and since the Patriots have yet to see him in action, it will be hard to account for his ability to leave the pocket. Kafta would not throw Dart back into the mix if he were not intending on using the next few weeks of the season to develop the offense for next year. There will be significant changes in the offseason on the defensive side of the ball, including player personnel and coaching. On the Patriots’ side, Drake Maye is also a mobile quarterback. The Patriots’ running back room is healthy once again and is looking forward to facing a Giants defense that is last in the NFL at stopping the run. Not being able to stop the run, especially on the road, leaves teams free to do whatever they want. The threat to score from anywhere on the field in a split second puts points on the board in no time at all. Patriots offensive coordinator Mike McDaniels will exploit the Giants’ weaknesses. It will be a cold night, but the wind will not be a factor for either quarterback throwing the football. The 10-2 Patriots should come out on top, but I wouldn’t be shocked if New York keeps it ever so close. Look for both teams to do just enough to make it a high-scoring game. Take the Over.
