Rotation # 674
UConn -6.5 over Arizona (loss)
Arizona finished 14-6 in the BIG 12 last year, good for 3rd place. UConn finished 14-6 in the BIG East, good for 3rd place. The goal for each team is to win their conference, but first, we should see an entertaining non-conference matchup between two top-five-ranked teams. The Huskies have the homecourt advantage hosting tonight’s game at the Gampel Pavilion. We will roll with the Huskies as they are the more experienced team returning their top two starters from a year ago in Solomon Ball and Alex Karaban. Tarris Reed is a great shot blocker and a strong rebounder, while Georgia transfer Silas Demary was a great addition, leading the team in assists and steals. The Huskies have a great mix of guards and forwards and should return to the powerhouse team they are known for after a bit of a slide last year. UConn values basketball and won’t settle for anything other than the most favorable shots. Arizona likes to run at a quicker pace and might run into some frustration on the road as the Hukies will do their best to dictate the tempo to their liking. Arizona is an outstanding team that will be in the thick of things in March, but it’s never easy to play a mid-week game on the other side of the country. Look for the Huskies to pull away late behind the home crowd. Take UConn.
