Niko Medved did a fine job in year one, taking over as the Golden Gophers’ head coach. Minnesota had a great campaign on its home floor, with notable victories over quality teams, but it has been short-handed all year, playing in a 6-man rotation for most of its games, and hasn’t been great on the road. The Gophers have been without Robert Vaihola for most of the year, and Jaylen Crocker-Johnson’s absence has made it difficult for them to show their true potential on the boards and on defene in the paint. I am not so sure Minnesota will win the turnover battle by the margin they did when both teams faced off in December at Williams Arena in Minneapolis. The Hoosiers have lost four straight and are in desperate need to get back on track if they want any chance of an at-large bid for the upcoming NCAA Tournament. Tucker DeVries should dominate on the glass and, along with Lamar Wilkerson, put up the offense needed for a win to snap the losing streak and set them up for a critical season finale matchup this weekend against Ohio State that could decide their tournament fate. Take Indiana.
