Texas Southern -2.5 over Fairleigh Dickinson (loss)
Texas Southern played out of the SWAC and finished 8th in regular season play. The Tigers went on to win the SWAC Tournament stunningly. They don’t get jitters in big games due to the demanding non-conference schedule they have played for the last decade. The Texas Southern Program is content with losing the first ten games of the year. Surprisingly the Tigers upset Arizona State earlier in the year. FDU played out of the Northeast Conference and played one of the weakest non-conference schedules in America. When we look at the coaches, Johnny Jones with Texas Southern has almost 400 wins and has been to the tournament six times. Tobin Anderson is coaching in his first year and will be making his first tournament appearance. Once the game tips off, you will immediately notice the massive size advantage that the Tigers hold. FDU brought in a lot of Division 2 players for this season, and I applaud their program for getting to the tournament, but the Tigers are better equipped to make it to the next round. Look for Davon Barnes and John Walker to run the show tonight. The winner advances and gets blown out by Purdue in 48 hours. Take Texas Southern..
