It’s interesting to see the Orange as such big favorites against a CAL team that currently has a better record than them, but most of the Golden Bears’ work has been at home. On the road, CAL is just 2-4. The Golden Bears miss the services of Rytis Petraitis and Lee Dort, as they are a small team without them and aren’t as good on the glass. The Orange have lost two straight and will look to get back into the winner’s circle. Look for Donnie Freeman to be a menace in the paint and for William Kyle to continue his dominating performance of redirecting shots. Look for the Orange to get a convincing win behind a great crowd at the JMA Wireless Dome. Take Syracuse.

UConn -11.5 over Butler (loss)
UConn dominated the December matchup on its home court, and I don’t think much will change on the road, as the Huskies are the superior team across the board. Butler has lost 4 straight and can’t feel too great about breaking out of their funk tonight against a top-ranked opponent. UConn is coming off a tough loss last Friday at St. John’s and will look to get back on track by trying to make Butler a punching bag. Stink Robinson being out for the year and possibly Jamie Kaiser again doesn’t make it any easier on the Bulldogs. The Huskies have too much firepower and experience. Tarris Reed should dominate on the paint and secure enough rebounds to overwhelm Butler. Take UConn.

Seton Hall got the better of the Friars in Providence back in December in a hard-fought game. The Pirates are on a two-game slide while Providence has won two straight. Providence is a 4.5-point underdog tonight, mainly because they have been awful on the road and lost the head-to-head earlier in the year, but I do think this will be a close battle. Providence is happy to have Jason Edwards’ offense back and Corey Floyd’s ball handling after missing a few games. The Friars must use their size advantage with Oswin Erhunmwunse on the glass and with his shot-blocking ability. Look for the Friars to keep the momentum going. Take Providence.
