Rotation # 545
Cavs +6.5 over Knicks (loss)
I believe, much like last night, that we have an overvalued betting line. The Knicks won the regular season series 2-1, but the Cavs won the game after the trade for James Harden. Cleveland might not have the defense to be considered an elite team, but they have outstanding offensive playmakers. The Knicks have an outstanding defensive team and are rightfully the favorites in this series, but 6.5 points is a lot. New York has not played in over a week, so there could be some rust early, much like what we saw from Oklahoma City last night. The Cavs can push the tempo and are playing with extreme confidence after their wire-to-wire Game 7 victory in Detroit. Both teams are going to shoot a lot of three-pointers. Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, and Donovan Mitchell are good in the paint, and if they can find a crease early, they could get out and control the pace as underdogs. If the Knicks can win by 8 or more, so be it. Like the Spurs last night, the betting line seems too high. Take the Cavs.

Rotation # 921
Red Sox -130 over Royals (win)
Suarez/Falter
Tonight’s game features two teams at the bottom of their respective divisions. The Royals are not very good against left-handed pitching and will have a tough time facing the red-hot Ranger Suarez, who hasn’t allowed a run in his last three starts. Suarez doesn’t walk many batters, so the odds of crooked-number innings are low, especially with the wind blowing in at Kauffman Stadium. Boston is better against left-handed pitching; they have a better starting pitcher and a stronger bullpen. Take the Red Sox.
