Rotation # 616
Oregon -3.5 over Maryland (loss)
Both teams have only one path to the NCAA Tournament: win the Big Ten Tournament. That means neither team is going to make the March Madness Tournament. Maryland shot the ball poorly in the head-to-head matchup this season, as they couldn’t make anything in the paint. The Terps have struggled in Buzz Williams’ first season and look like a lost program after Kevin Willard departed for the Villanova job. Maryland is a team of all transfers and freshmen that has not yet gelled and finished the year on a four-game losing streak. Oregon had a challenging year, hit hard by the injury bug. The Ducks losing Jackson Shelstad for most of conference play was a massive hit. In this matchup, the Ducks have a size advantage with Nathan Bittle and Kwame Evans. Ducks coach Dana Altman has been with the program for 16 years and typically has his team ready to play at the start of the BIG 10 tournament. I don’t know if Maryland can flip the switch and play together enough as a team to advance. Take Oregon.
