The Tigers got out to a 6-0 lead last night and held on for dear life in a 10-9 victory. Tampa will look to get back on track against Jack Flaherty. Tampa has a decent slugging percentage against right-handers and will look to take advantage of Flaherty’s out-of-control command. Tampa is one of the better teams in the league at not striking out against righties and should find chances for crooked-number offensive innings by drawing walks. Detroit has not been favorable against left-handers this season, so Rays starter Steven Matz should be able to do enough to keep the Tigers’ offense to a minimum.
