Rotation # 601
Washington -4.5 over Rutgers (win)
Neither team has great three-point shooters, but the Scarlet Knights’ three-point defense has been nowhere to be found this year. Hannes Steinbach’s presence on the boards and his scoring ability in the paint will be tough for Rutgers to stop. The Huskies are waiting for a few role players to get healthy, but so was Minnesota the other night, and they, in a six-man rotation, had their way with Rutgers. I don’t trust the Scarlet Knight defense and don’t have much confidence in their ability to create high-percentage shots on offense. Take Washington.

Rotation # 614
Georgetown -3.5 over Marquette (loss)
Marquette head coach Shaka Smart has disappointed this season as he typically builds teams that do well in conference play, but not this year. Georgetown head coach Ed Cooley doesn’t escape blame either, as he has underwhelmed with talented rosters dating back to his time at Providence. One of these coaches might be on the chopping block in a month. The good news for the Hoyas is that the Golden Eagles are 0-10 on the road this season, and they won the prior head-to-head matchup in December by dominating the glass, even without Vince Iwuchukwu in the lineup. The Hoyas should be better on the boards, win the turnover battle, and get to the charity stripe at a higher rate. KJ Lewis and Malik Mack should play much better than they did in their collapse on the road in their last game against Seton Hall. Take Georgetown.

Rotation # 659
Miami -2.5 over Florida State
Tonight’s matchup is an interesting one between two programs that have moved on from veteran coaches and now have young first-year coaches in their mid-thirties in Jai Lucas and Luke Loucks. The Canes have looked better in ACC play, but the Noles have won three straight and beat the Canes in the previous head-to-head matchup in Coral Gables last month. It’s interesting to see Miami as the favorite on the road. Still, they have a lot of big bodies that should be able to secure rebounds. Both teams consist of transfers or first-year players, but the Canes have more experience playing at the power conference level and have been good on the road this year. Ernest Udeh, Shelton Henderson, and Malik Reneau will look to dominate in the paint. Take Miami.
