Sixers +10.5 over Celtics (win)
The good news for Philadelphia is that they got Joel Embiid back into the lineup, but the bad news is their three-point defense wasn’t sharp, which allowed the Celtics to shoot a franchise-record 24 three-pointers to run away with Game Four. The Sixers would be better served using Embiid off the bench and playing with a smaller lineup to speed up the pace that the Celtics don’t like. Philly normally is a decent three-point defense, and it’s hard to believe the Celtics will have the same luck from the three-point line tonight. The Sixers have the size to make the game chippy and must make the Celtics earn their points in the paint, an area where they are not particularly good. I believe this spread has value. Look for Philly to keep it close, and must knock down shots of their own. Take the Sixers.

The Marlins blew the game last night as they held a big lead heading into the 9th inning. The good news is that Miami will not have to face Shohei Ohtani’s bat tonight, as he will be on the mound. The bad news is that Ohtani’s pitching has been outstanding with an ERA of 0.34. The Dodgers have not had a day off in 12 games and will turn to Ohtani on short rest. Los Angeles got a huge momentum boost last night in the 9th, but can’t wait for a day off on Thursday. If the Marlins play as well as they did last night, they could steal a game, especially with the Dodgers’ closer on IR. Take the Marlins +1.5 runs +105.
