Rotation # 580
Warriors -7 over Grizzlies (loss)
It’s unheard of for a front office to fire its head coach this late into a season when a team is in the playoffs. The Grizzlies are a gimmick team with an outstanding NASCAR offense, but they give up so much on defense. Memphis has only beaten one team with a winning record since February. A good coach will figure out their scheme and exploit it. Warriors Steve Kerr is light years ahead of Memphis interim coach Tuomas Iisalo. The Warriors will turn the Grizzlies over enough to stop large runs. Golden State wants to grab the seventh seed and avoid playing in a win-or-go-home scenario. I don’t like how Memphis ended the year, and I don’t think they will be prepared in a “playoff setting.” Take the Warriors.

Rotation # 957-958
Cubs/Padres over 8 runs (loss)
Imanaga/Vasquez
The Padres enter the day with the best slugging percentage on the road, and it’s not like they have a high rate because of a low number of at-bats. Chicago has the most at-bats on the road. The Padres have hit the ball well at home and have been good against lefties. Shota Imanaga has been outstanding in his first two years as a pro, but his strikeouts are down. Padres starter Randy Vasquez’s strikeouts are also down, and his walks are up. Vasquez has been bailed out a lot in his first three starts, but it’s never a good recipe for success when you give up seven walks per game on average. Look for both teams to do enough to make this a high-scoring game. Take the Over.
