Rotation # 103
Commanders +3.5 over Packers (loss)
The Commanders matured as an organization by securing road playoff victories against Tampa and Detroit last season. More impressive is that they did it under a first-year coaching staff and a rookie quarterback. Dan Quinn and the company are in their second year and have had a summer to get better and try to make another deep playoff run. Washington started the year with a wire-to-wire win against the Giants. The Packers looked outstanding in their first week game, going wire to wire against the Lions. It’s hard to predict early-season action when most teams are not close to being on the same page or at peak conditioning, but the injury bug has bitten the Packers more so far. The Green Bay offensive line could be without two starters tonight as Aaron Banks and Zach Tom have not practiced, and their status is in question for tonight’s game. The Packers are not deep with depth on the offensive line. Nothing sets a team up for failure than false starts and penalties, which could be an issue if both players don’t participate. QB Jordan Love is a heck of a player, but one thing he is not is super mobile. Green Bay is also nursing a few injuries in its secondary. Washington QB Jayden Daniels is looking to elevate his game in his sophomore year in the NFL. Running QBs are always a threat early in the year, especially during midweek games where the defense doesn’t have the normal time to game plan. Terry McLaurin is a nightmare to cover, and newly acquired Deebo Samuel can take the top off the defense and impact the game as a kick returner. We will take our chance with the underdog. Take the Commanders.
