Thursday October 20th Betting Recap

Picks for 10/20/22

NFL
8:15 PM EST
Rotation #303-304
Saints/Cardinals Over 42.5 (win)
The Thursday Night Games have been worse than watching paint dry, but tonight I believe we will see a good amount of points.  The Cardinals get DeAndre Hopkins back from suspension and should throw the ball a lot because James Conner is hurt.  Arizona needs to take advantage of a Saints secondary that is a mess right now due to injuries.  New Orleans has a new defensive coordinator, and I believe Kliff Kingsbury’s offense beats the defensive-minded defense of Saints head coach Dennis Allen and the new staff on the defensive side of the ball.  Andy Dalton will probably start again tonight for the Saints.  Dalton has a good running game behind him and should put up points against a thin Cardinals defense.  Look for issues tonight.  Take the Over.

College Football

Rotation #307
Virginia +3 over Georgia Tech (win)
Virginia is 0-3 in the ACC and desperate for a win.  Tonight is a perfect time to get that first win against a Georgia Tech team that fired their head coach a few weeks ago, who isn’t great on offense or defense and is playing with a banged-up QB in Jeff Sims.  Sims is a duel threat QB but hurt his leg two weeks ago.  It’s not sure that he even plays as of 3 PM EST, but he won’t be 100%.  Look for Brennan Armstrong to have a big game against a poor defense.  Take Virginia.

MLB
7:37 PM EST
Rotation #961-962
Yankees/Astros over 7 runs(loss)
Severino/Valdez
Last night’s game stayed under by a run and featured many big hits.  The problem was they were all with nobody on base.  The Yankees need to bounce back today and are better against left-handed pitching.  Houston will get their runs as their lineup is loaded with talent.  I expect both teams to start fast today.  Look for enough runs to make this a high-scoring game.  Take the Over.
