Commanders/Eagles Over 49 (loss)
The Eagles went half the season without scoring in the first quarter. Philly has started fast in the last few weeks and is itching to face a Washington secondary that lacks confidence. Benjamin St-Juste is struggling, and newly acquired Marshon Lattimore won’t play tonight. Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is dangerous enough to break big runs, but his presence keeps defenses honest, which helps the passing game flourish. Washington also needs to improve at stopping the run. Barkley could have a monster evening. Commanders running back Brian Robinson will play tonight, which will help the Commanders be well-balanced on offense. Rookie QB Jayden Daniels looks like a veteran, and Terry McLaurin is as good as any receiver in the game. We will find out a lot about the NFC East tonight. Neither team has played a demanding schedule, but we will find out who the better team is by night’s end. The Eagles’ defense is outstanding on paper, but it might be a product of an easy schedule. Both offenses should find enough chunk-yardage plays to make this a high-scoring affair. Take the Over.
