College Basketball Picks for 3/09/23

College Basketball
NOON EST
Rotation #728
Marquette -8.5 over St. John’s (loss)
St. John’s could have a better offense, but they play ferociously and can score many points with their #1 ranked pace in College Basketball. Marquette has the 4th ranked offense in the country and should put up a lot of points against the Red Storm as they did twice in the regular season. My concern for St. John’s is that their bench is getting shorter with injuries, and they are playing back-to-back in this tournament setting. St. John’s might have a little rust having to play at NOON after yesterday’s game. The Golden Eagles had a few days off and will be looking to put up over 90 points on St. John’s, just like they did five days ago. St. John’s will have their moments in this game but will break down in the second half. The Golden Eagles are the better team and should cash in today with a better coach on their sideline. Take Marquette.

Rotation #734
Creighton -4.5 over Villanova (win)
Creighton is ranked better than Villanova in just about every statistical category. Villanova won the games they should have and lost the ones they should have. It will take coach Kyle Neptune time to put together great teams, and Nova misses Jay Wright on the bench in situations like today. Creighton head coach Greg McDermott doesn’t miss the Coach Wright days and is ready to make deeper runs in the conference tournament. The Bluejays have multiple players they can lean on as they share the ball exceptionally well. Look for the Bluejays to advance to the next round. Take Creighton.
