Thursday June 5th Betting Recap

Picks for 6/5/25

NBA
8:30 PM EST
Rotation # 501-502
Pacers/Thunder Under 230 (win)
The NBA Finals will be an interesting series between the league’s best team, the Thunder, and a Pacers team known for their extraordinary comebacks. The oddsmakers did an excellent job setting the opening line around ten points tonight. Oklahoma City has a massive advantage starting at home against an average Pacers team on the road. Indiana has the physical ability to push the Thunder around, but their lack of rebounding could be their downfall, especially against a fundamentally sound Thunder team. Indiana was the league’s worst team in regards to second-chance points. The Thunder are great on the defensive end at securing rebounds and defending all areas on the court. Indiana could go on a few cold streaks that, along with the crowd, put them in a deep hole. Game one will have a feeling-out process that might slow down the pace. Take the Under.

MLB

Rotation # 907
Cubs -140 over Nationals (win)
Pomeranz/Irvin
The Cubs are hitting the ball well from both sides of the plate and will get a chance to tee off against Nationals starter Jake Irvin, who isn’t a power pitcher known for his strikeouts, nor is the bullpen. Cubs starter Drew Pomeranz is grateful to be back in the big leagues and has looked good in his limited work this season. The Nationals struggle against left-handed pitching and might have a tough time against a decent Chicago bullpen. Take the Cubs.
