Minnesota – 7 over Nebraska (loss)
Minnesota has a culture of excellent defense led by Head Coach PJ Fleck. Gopher Defensive Coordinator Joe Rossi is a tremendous asset to his team, as he elevated them to a top-five defense last year. Nebraska still needs experience as they break in a brand-new coaching staff tonight. The Huskers had one of the worst defenses in the country last year and have moved to a 3-3-5 defense. It will take time for the players to work it to perfection. Minnesota consistently has big offensive lines that players can run behind. At the QB position, the Athan Kaliakmanis era starts for the Gophers. Kaliakmanis faced Nebraska last year, where he led them to a 2nd half-comeback. Minnesota has a host of talented receivers that should help their young QB out. Due to suspension, Nebraska could miss their top RB, Anthony Grant. That would be a huge blow. If a new coaching staff can win on the road in Minnesota with a lousy defensive unit, we will tip our hats to them. Take Minnesota.
