Picks for 4/24/25

Rotation # 548
Pistons +1.5 over Knicks (loss)
The Pistons did a great job to secure game two to steal back home-court advantage. The Knicks have a talented starting five, but they have the weakest bench in the NBA and are not great rebounders. Detroit is great on the fast break and needs to take advantage of the Knicks’ inability to redirect easy attempts around the rim. Cade Cunningham will look to dominate in the paint. The Knicks will always be one of the smaller teams on the court, so Jalen Duren needs to play physically and get to the foul line. Malik Beasley and Tim Hardaway will look to take advantage of a weak Knicks three-point defense. Until the other night, the Pistons had not won a playoff game since before the invention of the iPhone. Look for Detroit to string a winning streak together for the first time since 2008. Take the Pistons.

Rotation # 915-916
Rays/Diamondbacks Over 8.5 runs (win)
Rasmussen/Burnes
The Rays have the better pitching matchup and shouldn’t be big underdogs. Still, the Diamondbacks have the best slugging percentage against left-handers in baseball and are second behind the Yankees in home slugging percentage. Much of that has to do with the short fence in New York. The Rays have played the least number of road games by far, so Arizona will look to make them uncomfortable. Diamondbacks starter Corbin Burnes has struggled this year as he is prone to give up a lot of walks. Look for Tampa to get on the board enough to make this a high-scoring game. Take the Over.
