Picks for 10/6/24

Rotation #457
Bills +1 over Texans (loss)
Houston will be without Joe Mixon today, and Dameon Pierce is questionable. Running the football could be difficult, especially behind a subpar offensive line. CJ Stroud won’t have all day to throw. But Buffalo, with its massive offensive line, is a different story. After last week’s performance, they’re a healthier team, and their offensive line is hungry for redemption. They should win the battle of the trenches. Take the Bills.

Rotation #460
Jaguars -3.5 over Colts (loss)
Colts QB Anthony Richardson will not play, nor will running back Jonathan Taylor. Indianapolis will not be at full strength on the offensive line and will need help to stay balanced. The Jaguars are at a desperate 0-4 in the standings. The playoffs might look out of reach, but they can’t afford a division loss. Trevor Lawrence must hand the ball off to Travis Etienne to loosen up coverages. The Jaguars’ offensive line has underwhelmed this season, but they have the talent to protect the QB. Indy is without Kwity Paye, which will hurt their chances of getting to the quarterback. Trevor Lawrence should have time to throw to any of his talented receivers. The Colt’s secondary is without Kenny Moore today and will be without JuJu Brents for most of the year. Indy is missing many cornerbacks and could be in for a long day. Take the Jaguars.

Rotation #467-468
Cardinals/49ers Over 48.5 (loss)
Arizona sits at 1-3 in the standings, but they are a good football team that has closed the gap in the NFC West. Kyler Murray is healthy, James Connor runs like a bull, and many passing options have stepped up. San Francisco is down a few excellent running backs, but Jordan Mason has stepped up big-time. Brock Purdy has many weapons to choose from and will play even better if the offensive line progresses. Look for both teams to be aggressive in making this a high-scoring game. Take the Over.

Rotation #472
Seahawks -7 over Giants (loss)
There is little promise coming from the 1-3 Giants. QB Daniel Jones has yet to look sharp, the running game is without Devin Singletary, and the passing game is very predictable. The Seahawks have two outstanding receivers that give defenses nightmares. DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett open the field for other receivers and help the running game stay unpredictable. The oddsmakers making the Giants such a big underdog on the road to a new coaching staff shows how much they don’t know what to think of the Giants. They can’t be competitive for 60 minutes. Take the Seahawks.

Rotation #474
Steelers -2.5 over Cowboys (loss)
Justin Fields is not the answer at quarterback for the Steelers, but I like them tonight against a Cowboys defense that is missing many pass rushers. Micah Parsons is out. DeMarcus Lawrence is on IR, Jordan Phillips is on IR, and they now rely on rookies and practice squad players to get to the quarterback. The Cowboys are dealing with a few injuries in the secondary as well. Steelers running back Najee Harris will get most of the reps and look to wear down the Cowboy’s front seven. The Steeler’s defense will look to shut down the underwhelming Cowboys running game and bait Dak Prescott into mistakes. Take the Steelers.
