Houston is a great basketball team. Quinton Grimes is a future NBA star and this team is well coached by Kelvin Sampson. The Cougars would be even better if Fabian White didn’t go down for the year with a knee injury and if Caleb Mills didn’t transfer. SMU was an average team last year, but the do have the talent to hang with any top team in the American because they have so much experience, scoring power and rebounding ability on this roster. The Mustangs should be able to avoid the blowout today. Take SMU

Michigan State +6.5 over Ohio State (loss)
The Spartans are coming off one of their more embarrassing showings as they were held to a record low point total. You can be sure Tom Izzo will have his team ready to play in this rivalry game. Both teams are evenly matched when it comes to talent. Ohio State might be a little better, but I don’t think this line should be this high. Look for the big forwards for the Spartans to play a physical game inside the paint today. This should be a grind it out slug fest. Take Michigan State.

Steve Alford has a young team that is made up of some really tall guys that have yet to fill out. This is a good defensive team that could be an elite level unit next year once they put on some weight. UNLV has a little bit more experience and pure shooting ability. Bryce Hamilton is the best guard on the floor and should lead his team to a nice road victory. Take UNLV.
