Today’s game showcases two starting pitchers trying to return from injury. Yankees starter Luis Gil got hurt in spring training, and White Sox starter Martin Perez got injured in early April. Both pitchers have looked decent in their return, but I don’t trust either of them to be on their game simultaneously, and neither bullpen has shown a lot of consistent lockdown ability. The Yankees have the best slugging percentage in baseball against lefties, are the best offensive road team, and are fantastic during day games. Chicago has been out of the playoff race for months, but they have looked sharp offensively since the All-Star Break, showing good home run power. Look for both teams to do enough, especially in the later innings, to make this a high-scoring contest. Take the Over.
