Rotation # 510
Cavs -12.5 over Heat (win)
Miami has looked pretty good in the last few games, with all the credit going to veteran coach Erik Spoelstra. It’s one thing to beat up on teams with losing records and another to stay in the game with a Cleveland team that won 64 games this year and was outstanding at home. Cleveland is a great shooting team that shoots a high percentage and is the best in the NBA at scoring around the basket. Cleveland can get hot from the three-point line and doesn’t beat themselves with silly turnovers. The Heat are a bad offensive team that can’t play with pace. Miami has a tough time blocking shots, which isn’t good news against a Cavaliers team that makes a living around the rim. Donovan Mitchell is playing outstanding basketball, and the camaraderie this bunch has shared will go a long way in a playoff setting. Miami would need a defensive performance of a lifetime to get out of this series. I don’t see it. Take the Cavs.

Rotation # 901
Marlins +1.5 runs over Phillies +120 (win)
Gillispie/Luzardo
The Marlins did an outstanding job putting up six runs in the 9th inning last night as their frantic comeback came up just short. Miami has a decent slugging percentage against lefties and will look to continue their momentum to try to avoid the series sweep in Philadelphia. It doesn’t mean much, only a few weeks into the year, but Miami has the best batting average in baseball during day games. Miami starter Connor Gillispie has struggled in his young career, but the good news is that the Philly bats are not used to facing him. The Marlins are familiar with Phillies starter Jesus Luzardo, who were teammates for many years. The run line has decent value. Take the Marlins +1.5 runs +120.
