NC State -12.5 over ECU (loss)
ECU has a great quarterback behind the play of Holton Ahlers. The bad news is their top 2 receivers from last year are gone, and their offensive line isn’t good enough to handle the number 13 country in the nation. The running game of the Pirates returns, but I don’t think they have much impact against the front seven for the Wolfpack. Devin Leary is back at QB for NC State and still has talented receivers. The key to today’s game is the NC State defense. I am not sure ECU will be able to match the Wolfpack point production going against a defense that returns nine of their top eleven tacklers from a season ago. This spread might seem high, but we will trust a ranked team from a better conference to take care of business on the road against a team that isn’t a powerhouse, even in their conference. Take NC State.

Ohio State -16 over Notre Dame (loss)
Tonight’s football game is a top-five showdown. Notre Dame is a great team coming in ranked number five in the country. Ohio State is ranked number two in the nation. I believe the general public will play the dog in this spot because they are getting a lot of points. Notre Dame is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball, but the one spot that will be new is the quarterback position. Tyler Buchner doesn’t have much playing QB. The Irish have a new head coach, defensive coordinator, and special team coordinator; many position coaches are new. It’s tough for a non-veteran QB and new coaching staff to compete on the road at Ohio Stadium. Ohio State brings back CJ Stroud at quarterback. Stoud has 44 touchdowns to only six interceptions in his career. The Buckeyes get back nine of the top eleven tacklers from last year and should mature enough this season to be great. The crowd will be too much for the Irish to handle. Take Ohio State.
