Rotation # 349-350
Texas Tech/Utah Under 57.5 (win)
It’s an early 10 AM Mountain Time start in Salt Lake City between two 3-0 teams ready to get BIG 12 action started. Utah has looked impressive under new offensive coordinator Jason Beck and transfer quarterback Devon Dampier, but they have not faced a defense with the talent Texas Tech has, especially on their front seven. The Utes have a lot of offensive weapons, and they also have the ability to milk the clock by slowly moving the chains. Texas Tech also has a new offensive coordinator in Mack Leftwich. The Red Raiders don’t have an established running game as they are breaking in new starters. Look for Utah’s defensive coordinator, Morgan Scalley, to dare them to run the ball. Today’s total seems high for the circumstances. We should see a little sleepwalking in the first half due to the early start time.

Rotation # 340
Wisconsin -10 over Maryland (loss)
The topic of today’s game will be the status of Wisconsin QB Billy Edwards Jr. Edwards is questionable to play and would love nothing more than to face the team he just transferred from. The real key to this game is in the trenches. The Terps are breaking in a new defensive system under defensive coordinator Ted Monachino. Maryland doesn’t have the talent or depth at this point in the year. Badgers head coach Luke Fickell will look to run the ball and test the conditioning of the Terps as bodies get tired in the second half. Maryland won just one conference game a season ago and has a lot of new faces across the board. It will be extremely tough for the Terps to hang around for four quarters in Madison. Take Wisconsin.

Rotation # 328
Clemson -17.5 over Syracuse (loss)
Dabo Swinney will look to get his team back on track after a tough loss last week at Georgia Tech. Clemson doesn’t have the running game it had in past seasons, so quarterback Cade Klubnik will need to throw more. Syracuse has a lot of youth in the secondary, and the status of their two best defenders, Duce Chestnut and Devin Grant, is in question. The Tigers have an experienced offensive line that should give Klubnik time to find his receivers for chunk plays. The Tigers’ defense should be able to rattle transfer QB Steve Angeli into mistakes that cost his team points. Take Clemson.

Rotation # 370
Notre Dame -24.5 over Purdue
Notre Dame is 0-2, and the margin for error is now zero, not even a month into the season. The Irish need a punching bag. Purdue enters the season with a brand new coaching staff and doesn’t have the bodies in the trenches to be competitive this season against big-name programs. The Irish have been competitive in the first few weeks, but have lost to better teams heartbreakingly. Notre Dame will lean on their running game and look to break down the Boilermakers’ front seven. Look for the Irish to control the game from start to finish. Look for the Fighting Irish to go wire to wire in a blowout. Take Notre Dame.
