Rotation # 314

UNC +2.5 over Pitt (loss)

Pitt is off to a 4-0 start and has done an excellent job closing late to steal wins. UNC had a 20-0 lead last week on the road and blew the game at Duke. Mac Brown is too good of a coach to allow his team to lose to JMU and then blow a game to their cross-state rivals the following week. I’m not too fond of either team’s offensive lines, as it’s a development year for most starters. Pitt has a young QB and lacks a stud running back like Omarion Hampton of UNC. The Tar Heels have more passing options and should perform well at home. On defense, the Panthers are breaking in many new starters and need more depth. On the other hand, UNC brought back a lot of starting talent from a year ago. Pitt is off to a hot start, but they had a 2-6 ACC campaign a year ago and, on paper, still need to improve. Take UNC.

Rotation # 343-344

Boston College/Virginia Over 52.5 (loss)

Virginia gets good news from the bye week, as they are at full strength on the offensive line. Running back Kobe Price should have a decent day, as the Cav’s experience up front will open many lanes and give the QB time to throw. Boston College will look to do the same with their talented running backs. The Eagles have much experience up front and a lot of underrated talent at receiver. Both teams will take a run-first approach, softening the defense for the big strike downfield. Look for a lot of points. Take the Over.

Rotation # 327

Ole Miss -9.5 over South Carolina (win)
Ole Miss is the most complete team in college football, as they have veteran talent at all levels of play. It was a shocking upset last week for the Rebels. The Rebels could put teams away if the defense was more disciplined and drew fewer penalties. It’s easier said than done, but they must stop playing dumb. Jaxson Dart is as good as it gets at QB and has a host of talented receivers who will be open all day. The Rebel’s offensive line is massive and will open up lanes for the outstanding running game. Coach Kiffin will have his team ready to play. Gamecocks QB LaNorris Sellers is not at full strength today for the Gamecocks, which will set their offense back. The offensive line is weak on the edges and could be in for a long day. The Rebels need a big win to stop the bleeding from their fall in the standings. Take Ole Miss.

Rotation # 363

Virginia Tech -8 over Stanford (win)

Hokies fans have been hit with a wave of emotions this year. The most recent was a game-winning touchdown called back by a review on the road in Miami. Virginia Tech has little wiggle room for mistakes in conference play. The Hokies have one of the most veteran teams in the nation and need to welcome Stanford to ACC play with a big road victory. The Cardinal have done a decent job making the switch, but we must remember they were a 2-7 PAC 12 team last season. Stanford has an undersized offensive line, unknown running backs, and only has a little at receiver. Virginia Tech QB Kyron Drones must use his legs today to confuse the Stanford defense. The Hokies’ third-year coaching staff must utilize their skill players to run the Cardinal off the field. Look for the Hokies to be well-balanced with the run and pass. Take Virginia Tech.

Rotation # 376

Oklahoma State -2.5 over West Virginia (loss)

Mike Gundy is not in good favor with the fans in Stillwater, as his team has looked wildly unprepared so far. QB Alan Bowman has looked like a true freshman. You won’t find a coach with 20 years of experience, a senior QB with 40+ starts, and a running back that is a Heisman candidate look as underwhelming as they have. We won’t give up on them, as they are in an ideal spot to rebound. WVU defensive lineman Edward Vesterinen will miss today’s game. Linebacker Aubrey Burks is dealing with injuries. The Mountaineers won’t be able to pressure the QB at full strength. The Cowboys’ offensive line must take advantage and protect Bowman. Ollie Gordon has to get going early on, and the Cowboys must stick with him and not divert from the game plan. Take Oklahoma State.
