Saturday October 15th Betting Recap

Picks for 10/15/22

Rotation # 138
Syracuse -3 over NC State (win)
Dino Babers always has his team ready to go in essential road games. NC State has a great offense led by QB Devin Leary, one of the country’s best quarterbacks. Many people would be shocked if you told them Syracuse is 5-0, but they are playing well. Mississippi State transfer Garrett Shrader has filled in great at QB. Sean Tucker is an excellent running back who can also catch the ball. To win on the road, you must have a fantastic running game. The Wolfpack running game is average at best. Look for the Syracuse defense to make the one-dimensional and to win off the crazy crowd noise. Take Syracuse.

Rotation # 164
BYU -1 over Arkansas (loss)
The Razorbacks will get KJ Jefferson back today, but I don’t trust him on the road in big games.  Jefferson has choked on the road, and it won’t get easier for him in a hostile environment against a veteran defense.  BYU QB Jaren Hall is having a great year, and many receivers have stepped up in the absence of Gunner Romney and Puka Nacua.  Both of them will return today to give BYU all of their weapons.  KJ Jefferson will have to prove he can consistently win big road games before we can back him.  Take BYU.

Rotation # 186
TCU -4.5 over Oklahoma State (loss)
We have a battle of two 5-0 teams this afternoon. Spencer Sanders is a duel threat QB for Oklahoma State, and Max Duggan is a senior QB for TCU. Both quarterbacks will lead their offenses well today. Oklahoma State’s Defense will struggle in this road game because they lost a lot of players last year and have yet to gel as a defensive unit. This game should be a shootout, as both offenses are exceptional. The edge goes to the home team that will catch a big break or makes that one extra big play to win the game. Take TCU.

MLB

Rotation # 901-902
Braves/Phillies Over 9 runs (win)
Morton/Syndergaard
Noah Syndergaard will start for the Phillies this afternoon. Syndergaard’s strikeout ability has gone way down this year, and with the wind blowing out, Atlanta should get a few big hits. Charlie Morton has strikeout power but has not been as sharp as he has been in the past. Citizens Bank Park is great for hitting, and with the wind blowing out at 12 mph, we should see a few long balls. Look for both teams to do enough to make this a high-scoring game. Take the Over.
