Rotation # 802
San Diego State -5.5 over Furman (win)
We have to give Furman their props for beating Virginia. I would love to see Tony Bennett change his system because Cavalier basketball is boring and gets them in trouble if they are not perfect at shooting the ball. San Diego State is a veteran team of juniors and seniors that can attack and defend the three and any program in America. Both teams are exhausted after playing games the other day, and this type of game is where a good bench comes in. SDSU has some of the best reserves in the country and should put up points off the bench. My last point brings us to the overall level of play that favors the Aztecs. Furman did a great job against a timid Virginia team. The Aztecs will throw their weight around and bring Furman back down to life. Take San Diego State.

Rotation # 807
Auburn +5.5 over Houston (loss)
Tonight’s game has a final four feel as two legendary head coaches, Bruce Pearl and Kelvin Sampson, face off. Houston has been the talk of the town this year. The Cougars are a great team but play out of the AAC. Auburn has been facing much tougher competition in the SEC. Houston is known for their toughness, but don’t count out Auburn. Johni Broome will have to be a beast on the boards tonight, and Wendell Green must make his shots to keep the game close. Being the underdog at this price is a good value. Take Auburn.

Rotation # 812
Texas -5.5 over Penn State (loss)
Penn State did a great job getting out of the first game as the ten seed, but now they face an outstanding Texas team. Texas did a great job down the stretch after head coach Chris Beard lost his job. That will haunt Texas later in the tournament, but they are the superior team tonight. Penn State will press them, but Texas is used to it as West Virginia is in their conference, and they see it twice per season. The Longhorns will win all the little battles today, such as getting more assists and steals. The Longhorns will get many bench points tonight to win by double digits. Marcus Carr will be the hot hand that leads the way for the Longhorns. Take Texas.

Rotation # 815-816
Northwestern/UCLA Over 126.5 (win)
Unders went 15-1 yesterday, and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the tight rims in this tournament. Depth perception was an issue as there were many airballs to start the NCAA Tournament. The good news is the teams have played in the arena once already and now have a better feel for things. UCLA and Northwestern have good defenses and play at a slower pace, but both teams should be able to keep drives alive with offensive rebounds, and both teams don’t have good benches, so tired legs lead to more easy buckets. UCLA is a much better program, but Northwestern has a slight edge in size and experience. I would be okay if the Wildcats kept this game too close for comfort. Look for Jaime Jaquez and Tyger Campbell to lead the way for the Bruins and for seniors Boo Buie and Chase Audige to play great for Northwestern. Take the Over.
