The Dodgers lost seven straight, a task they have luckily not accomplished in many years. The only positive note is that they still have control of the NL West. The Dodgers get a chance to get back into the winner’s circle against Giants starter Landen Roupp. Roupp has been decent this year, but his walks can get him into jams. Shohei Ohtani is back on the mound and has looked like a seasoned veteran, showing no signs of rust after the year-long layoff from pitching. One positive in Ohtani’s game is his ability to keep the ball in play, as he has yet to allow a home run in his limited work. The Dodgers will have a short leash on him for a few more games. The Dodgers’ bullpen must return to last year’s glory days if they want a deep playoff run. Los Angeles needs to string together a victory before the All-Star break. We will take the run line.
