Rotation #625
Maryland +6 over Minnesota (win)
Minnesota  is off to a nice start this year.  This team was 12th in the BIG 10 last year, but they have experienced players and brought in a couple of really good transfers.  Maryland is also an experienced team and you wonder if Minnesota can really close such a big gap in such short time as they face the leader in the BIG 10 last year.  The Terps are a frustrating team because they are either so incredibly good or they forget how to do all the basic fundamentals.   Mark Turgeon is a good coach and will roll with him over the young Pitino.  When the Terps are written off is when they will look like Gonzaga.  Take Maryland.

NC State +6 over UNC (loss)
North Carolina is a young team with tons of talent, but are they ready to turn the page and be big time favorites over teams in their conference?   UNC will have a huge size advantage today, but it’s the defense that i am concerned about.  NC State has veteran players like Braxton Beverly and Devon Daniels that are going to look to take advantage of these young Tar Heel freshman.  I think this game comes right down to the wire.  Take NC State.

Dayton +5.5 over VCU (loss)
What happened to this VCU team?  It’s simple.  They just don’t have the athletic talent as some of their past teams.  Mike Rhoades is a great coach, but you can only do so much with the tools you have.  Dayton comes in with all of the advantages today and Head Coach Anthony Grant would love to get a win against a team he once coached.  Jalen Crutcher will be the best player on the court this afternoon.  Take Dayton.

Mississippi State +9.5 over Alabama (win)
Alabama is a great team that is well coached, but they are monster favorites because of how they have been shooting the three pointer.  Mississippi State has size and experience to disrupt the easy three ball.  Alabama has come a long way, but I am not so sure I trust them just yet to be winning games by double digits in conference.  There is just no value in a line like this.  There are not a lot of superstars on this Bulldogs roster, but Ben Howland is good coach that will turn this into a physical slugfest.  I think this is a very generous spot to take the underdog.  Take Mississippi State.

Rotation #739
DePaul +9 over Marquette (win)
DePaul got their season started late because of Covid.   This is a great shooting team, but they are not going to be the best defensive team you see because of their size, but on the other hand Marquette doesn’t turn teams over that much on defense.  I think we are looking at a classic shootout today.  DePaul did great with their transfers this year and I believe will hang in this game.  It’s the slow tempo and big physical defenses that will shut this team out, but Marquette isn’t in that category.  Take DePaul.
