Clemson is a top-rated program, and we can get caught up in how many points Duke is getting. I must admit that Duke is an excellent football team this year as their top QB, Riley Leonard, is back, and they return their most productive running backs from a season ago. Duke didn’t lose one game by more than one score and should be even better this season. The Blue Devils have experience on their offensive line and many veteran receivers. Clemson is breaking in a new starting QB after the departure of DJ Uiagalelei to Oregon State. Clemson has a new offensive coordinator and will have a tough time tonight against a very active Duke defense. The Blue Devils return all their starters on the defensive line, so they should be able to get pressure on Cade Klubnik. Duke returns their special teams player, while Clemson has a new field goal kicker, which could be a factor when the line is this high. It’s hard to grasp the Tigers on paper because Clemson still recruits superior athletes. Look for the Blue Devils to keep this game close at home. Take Duke.

Phillies/Padres Over 9 runs (win)

The Padres hitters have been hot to start the month of September, while the Phillies have been excellent at hitting left-handers all season long. Phillies starter Taijuan Walker isn’t going to overpower a team, and Padres starter Tim Hill has trouble registering any strikeouts. Both teams will be able to hit the ball hard tonight. There is always a weak Phillies bullpen to deal with late in the game, which is always suitable for a few runs. Look for a lot of scoring tonight. Take the Over.
