Notre Dame +4 over Illinois (loss)
Notre Dame returns a lot of pure scoring power from last year and picked up a big forward in Paul Atkinson from Yale in the transfer portal. I liked the Irish to compete tonight, but not the Illini are going to be without Trent Frazier, Andre Curbelo, Jacob Granderson and Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk. This loss accounts for more than half of their production and this early in the season Mike Brey should be able to have his team in position to take advantage and win a big road game that will look good later on in the year. Loyola Marymount -3.5 over Grand Canyon (loss)
Grand Canyon has the better coach, but the WCC is tougher than the WAC Conference. LMU returns a lot of of scoring power and did very well in the transfer portal this year. The Antelopes lost most of their starters from a season ago. This team also hit well with transfers this year, but I think LMU will be able to win on both the offensive and defensive glass tonight and should be able to take advantage of their deep roster. Take LMU.
