Oakland started off the season 0-9 because they had the guts to play high level out of conference teams. Those games and that experience is helping this team as the season comes to a close. Oakland has played in a lot of close games and a lot of overtime periods. This is a battled tested program. Oakland also has played more games on the road this year than just about anybody so being away from home on a neutral court doesn’t change who they are. Northern Kentucky plays at a very slow place, they don’t share the ball well and they are not good defensive rebounders. Oakland has flaws such as being a bad overall defense, not being able to defend the three point line and they themselves have a tough time on the defensive glass, but their offense is playing well and can make up for that. A lot of their statistics are skewed because of their top heavy early schedule where great teams were putting up 100 points on them. Both teams should get their buckets tonight, but I question if Northern Kentucky has the offense to keep pace with this team. The Golden Grizzlies have a lot of talented players on this team and could very well win this conference tournament. Take Oakland.
