Rotation # 145-146
Eagles/Chargers Over 41.5 (loss)
The Eagles have not played well as of late, but their playoff status is in good shape. On the other hand, the Chargers’ odds drop to 50/50 if they lose tonight’s contest. All eyes will be on Justin Herbert as he broke his non-throwing hand, had surgery, and is looking to not miss a beat. Herbert should take snaps out of the shotgun and should play tonight. Los Angeles is happy to have Omarion Hampton back from IR, which gives their running game a little more depth. One thing that will stand out tonight is the size of both offensive lines, as they are massive, allowing holes to open for the running backs and protection for the quarterback to throw the ball. It’s no secret the Eagles’ offense has struggled, but it’s not an issue of talent; it is more about offensive play-calling. Tonight’s total is low for two quarterbacks with high completion percentages, plenty of weapons who can make plays, and the ability to move the chains with their legs. Neither defense is elite enough against the run to take over a game. The total is set as if two backups were playing in 20 mph winds. The Chargers can up the tempo at home and will try to take advantage of the league’s youngest defense. The Eagles will be without Jalen Carter on the defensive line, making life more difficult to disrupt the Chargers’ running game and put pressure on the quarterback. Tonight should be a great battle between two 8-4 teams. It doesn’t have to be a barn burner, but both offenses should do enough in perfect conditions. Take the Over.
