Purdue/UConn Under 144.5 (Win)
As we enter the final game of the college basketball season, it’s been a successful tournament and year for us. UConn has been phenomenal, winning every tournament game by double digits. I think Purdue can hang tight, but I like the total slightly more. Playing on different surfaces to accommodate a big audience is tricky with depth perception. It’s not a game, it’s an event. Neither team runs a fast-paced offense, and every possession will be valued because tonight’s game is for all the marbles. Both teams are well-balanced, playing outstanding offense and defense, but one flaw they both have is the inability to create turnovers. Fewer turnovers equal fewer fast break points. The Huskies do a great job of disrupting shots in the paint. Zach Edey is a force for Purdue, as players have to launch their shots at a completely different angle to get the ball past his arms. Easy buckets will be hard to come by if he stays out of foul trouble. Donovan Clingan is equally successful at altering shots and is an even better shot blocker than Edey. Teams will earn their points tonight. Neither team plays in a hurry, and there should be a gap or two of scoring droughts that will make this a low-scoring game. Take the Under.
