Picks for 4/21/25

MLB

Rotation # 957-958
Brewers/Giants Over 7.5 runs (loss)
Priester/Ray
Brewers starter Quinn Priester has not pitched much in the last few years and has gotten away with many walks early in the season. Giants starter Robbie Ray has also allowed many walks this year. The total of 7.5 in this game is as if two CY Young pitchers were head-to-head, which is not the case. Oracle Park is not hitter-friendly, but both teams should do enough to send this over the total. Pitchers can only get away with a walk rate for so long. Take the Over.

NBA

Rotation # 524
Nuggets +1 over Clippers (loss)
I am not a fan of Denver’s coaching change at the end of the season, but I do believe the Nuggets are the superior basketball team—or at least their starters are. The Clippers are a great defensive team, but it will be hard to hold down the Nuggets’ high-scoring offense, which spreads the floor well and can score from anywhere on the court. It’s next to impossible to stop Nikola Jokic in the paint. Home court means a lot in this series. The Clippers have failed to advance in the first round of the playoffs the last few seasons and lack the offense and grit around the basket to disrupt shots or make easier buckets. Take the Nuggets.
