The good news is they are facing a Padres team that can breathe after clinching their own playoff spot last night, and they’re chasing down a Phillies team that has looked awful lately. The bad news is Arizona isn’t in control of their destiny. The worse news is they face a Padres team that is red hot offensively and holds the best slugging percentage this month. San Diego has the better bullpen, which is always an advantage in a playoff-game setting. It’s the regular season, but this feels like a playoff game. The Padres are still trying to lock up the number one wild-card seed, so they have just as much to play for. Tremendous pressure is on the Diamondbacks, who will be looking at the scoreboard in Philadelphia before the first pitch tonight. Take the Padres.
