Picks for 10/9/26

College Football
Iowa/Washington Over 40.5 (win)
Rotation #319-320 / 9:00 PM EST
The Huskies faced a similar opponent in Minnesota two weeks ago and struggled to stop the run, even with the Gophers missing key pieces along their offensive line. The score never got out of hand because Minnesota plays at a turtle’s pace and rarely takes chances. Iowa isn’t exactly a team that goes for the jugular, but the Hawkeyes play faster than the Gophers. Iowa’s senior-led offensive line will look to limit penalties and keep the offense on schedule. The Hawkeyes will turn to backup quarterback Jeremy Hecklinski tonight, but a strong running game always gives a team a chance on the road. Kamari Moulton has the skill set to move the chains and keep drives alive. Washington quarterback Demond Williams Jr. is an outstanding dual-threat talent and will benefit from Landen Hatchett’s return at center tonight. The Huskies are banged up at running back, with Jayden Limar out, which could force Washington into a more one-dimensional attack. That approach can produce quick scores, but it can also lead to costly mistakes that give the opposition favorable field position. That’s exactly the type of scenario we like when betting the Over. With a healthier offensive line and an experience advantage in the trenches, Williams should have more time to operate in the pocket and create opportunities downfield. Tonight’s total looks too low in my opinion. Both offenses have enough playmakers to move the football and put points on the board. I expect both teams to do their part in making this a higher-scoring contest. Take the Over.
