Picks for 5/15/26

Rotation # 526
Timberwolves +5.5 over Spurs (pending)
Minnesota is on life support at home, trying to fend off elimination. What the Timberwolves have going for them is their experience and size. Minnesota will be able to compete on the boards. Will the Timberwolves be able to slow down Victor Wembanyama in the paint? Probably not, which means Anthony Edwards is going to have to step up and have the kind of game he had the last time they were at home in Game Four. Minnesota can crank up the pace, especially on its home court. Look for Minnesota to get out of the gates strong and feed off the crowd. Take the Timberwolves.

Rotation # 925-926
Dodgers/Angels Over 9 runs (Snell has been scratched. No action)
Snell/Kochanowicz
The Dodgers are happy to have Blake Snell back on the mound, but it’s going to take time for him to get into playing shape. Snell typically gets better down the stretch, so I expect a few mistakes, much like he had the other night against the Braves. The Angels have a much better time against left-handed pitchers than against righties. The Dodgers will look to take advantage of a struggling Jack Kochanowicz as he issues a lot of walks and doesn’t have the strikeout power to get out of jams. The Angels’ bullpen has been an adventure as well this season, so Los Angeles will never be out of the game. Both teams have homerun power led by Mike Trout of the Angels and Max Muncy of the Dodgers. The wind will be blowing out, and the humidity will rise as the game gets deeper into the night. Look for a high-scoring game. Take the Over.
