Picks for 1/31/25
College Basketball
6:30 PM EST
Rotation # 872
Georgetown -3.5 over Butler (loss)
The Bulldogs have played a demanding schedule, so it’s not fair to say they are a terrible team, but their defense is lacking, and they are 0-5 on the road. Thad Matta is a good coach, but the talent isn’t great outside of Brooks and Telfort. Ed Cooley has done a great job of taking Georgetown out of the basement of the BIG East. Defensive play can change a program for the better. The Hoyas are a young basketball team with tremendous upside. Micah Peavy is a newcomer to the program but is the only senior with significant playing time, and he has quickly taken over as team leader. Malik Mack and Jayden Epps are outstanding guards who should be able to score on the Bulldog defense. Home court means a lot in a series matchup with similar talent. Take Georgetown.
