Rotation # 211
Indiana +7 over Notre Dame (loss)
We are in uncharted waters as College Football rolls out the first 12-team playoff system. Indiana was a 3-9 team a year ago and made a coaching change that brought in dozens of players from head coach Curt Cignetti’s old program at JMU. The instant success was remarkable. You can’t script a fairytale season any better for many ex-Sun Belt Conference players and coaches. Notre Dame brought in a transfer QB, Riley Leonard, who was derailed early in the season due to offensive line issues. The Irish had a mind-boggling early season loss at home to Northern Illinois. Remarkably, their season didn’t collapse back in September. It’s good to see a rivalry coming out of the Hoosier State of Indiana. The reason why both programs made the tournament is due to their easy schedule. The winner will advance to take on a Georgia team without their starting QB. Anything is possible. We will go with the underdog because Indiana QB Kurtis Rourke is completing 70 percent of his passes this year and has a host of capable receivers at his disposal. The run defense has the tools to slow down Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price. Indiana’s coaching staff has been together for a while now, as coach Cignetti brought them with him after he departed James Madison. You have a shot on the road if you can run the ball and stop the opponent’s rushing attack. The college football playoffs are here! Take Indiana
