As mentioned yesterday, the Diamondbacks have a serious issue with their bullpen. Diamondbacks starter Eduardo Rodriguez had a good outing against the Dodgers. Still, Arizona is going to need starters to go deep into the night and for the offense to be so far ahead that it can hold off its opponents. The Braves’ bullpen doesn’t have that problem, and since we are basically dealing with even money, the odds are in favor of Atlanta if the game is close heading into the final few frames. Braves starter Grant Holmes was shaky in the opener, but he was good in the spring, and his strikeout ability could be a huge asset, especially if he can keep his walks down. The Braves have hit left-handers well to start the year, and once again, we can’t trust the Diamondbacks’ bullpen right now. Take the Braves.
