Purdue -20.5 over Minnesota (win)
Minnesota is coming off a great home win against Indiana, while Purdue was humbled at home by powerhouse Iowa State. The Boilermakers will look to get right against a team that doesn’t have the offensive firepower the Cyclones have, especially from behind the 3-point line. New head coach Niko Medved is looking to find an identity for his Golden Gopher program. There isn’t a player on the roster who started a game on a Power conference team last season. Minnesota is off to a 5-4 start and has already lost to a few teams Purdue would never lose to. The Boilermakers don’t settle for silly shots, and once they get a lead, they play at a methodical pace that frustrates opponents trying to get back into the game. Minnesota simply doesn’t have the horses to keep up. Matt Painter will have the Boilermakers well-focused after a humbling loss the other night. Braden Smith and Fletcher Loyer will be too much for Minnesota to handle. Oscar Cluff has been incredible on the glass, especially on the offensive end, which gives the Boilermakers more second-chance possessions. Over the course of 40 minutes, the more experienced and polished Boilermakers should turn this contest into a rout. Take Purdue.
