Rotation # 123
Dolphins -2.5 over Jets (win)
Dolphins/Jets Over 41.5 (win)
The temperature at kickoff in East Rutherford will be 42 degrees with light winds. Miami on the road playing in a cold region of the country in December will take these conditions all day long, as it’s basically ideal football weather. Neither team is going to make the playoffs, and we hope each staff will bring their best game plan to the table and not try any tanking funny business. The issue the Jets have is on the backend of their defense, as they are simply running out of capable cornerbacks. New York traded away a few guys a month ago, and today will be without Jarvis Brownlee. The Dolphins should be able to spread the field and pick on somebody. Miami is happy to have tight end Darren Waller back on the field, and after a few offensive linemen went down, is pleased to have Austin Jackson back. The Jets are thin at the receiver position, and it’s hard to bank on backup QB Tyrod Taylor for four quarters, but Breece Hall is running the ball well. Miami has played well against the Jets in recent history, and they are running the ball well; now that they are a little bit healthier, they should be able to take care of business. Take the Dolphins. Take the Over. No Parlays.

Rotation # 136
Bucs -8.5 over Saints (loss)
Tampa is in a good spot to make the playoffs, but it must keep winning while the Panthers are on their heels. The Saints have been eliminated from postseason play and are without their starting QB, their best overall running back, Alvin Kamara. QB Tyler Shough is not yet at the level to win big road games, especially with a patchwork running back room and an offensive line missing a lot of talent. Tampa is well balanced with Bucky Irving running the football, and soon will be much healthier at the receiver position with Mike Evans getting close to returning. Tampa is better on both sides of the ball. We will let the spread take care of itself. If Tyler Shough and a short-handed offense can beat you, then you gladly accept the loss. Look for Tampa’s defense to force multiple turnovers. Take the Bucs.

Rotation # 142
Bills -6 over Bengals (loss)
Bills/Bengals Over 53.5 (win)
Cincinnati hasn’t been officially eliminated from playoff contention yet and will play accordingly. Joe Burrow looks like he never missed a snap as he came back with no rust. The Bengals will have a healthy Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase looking to make noise. Buffalo will look to soften up the Bengals’ front seven without their leader, Trey Hendrickson. The Bills get their starting tackles back for today’s game and will look to open up running lanes and protect Josh Allen. The Bills have a 95% chance of making the playoffs if they win today. The weather at kickoff will see some snowfall, but it will look far worse on TV than on the actual field. The conditions are nothing new to either team. In fact, a slippery field helps the offense. Both teams should trade scores with Buffalo, eventually pulling away at home. Take the Bills. Take the Over. No parlays.

Rotation # 133
Bears +7 over Packers (push)
It will be a cold afternoon at Lambeau Field, with temperatures under 20 degrees. The Bears have been one of the better teams against the spread in the NFL, and there is heavy public money on the Bears +7. The game has to be played, but sometimes it feels like the oddsmakers set a line to scare “sharp bettors” or to have them fade the public for no reason other than thinking the line is shady. Chicago has the best record in the NFC and is coming off an outstanding road victory 10 days ago in Philadelphia. The Bears are turning teams over at a historic rate and producing points off it. Green Bay protects the football, but its receivers are far from perfect health, as many are on IR or a few weeks removed from returning to the lineup. Chicago will be without Tyrique Stevenson this afternoon, but is thrilled to have Javion Johnson and Kyler Gordon back from IR. Green Bay is a well-coached team and could win this game by double digits, but the best team in the NFC at the moment, getting seven points with a few days’ extra rest, has value. Chicago has improved their offensive line and has an opportunistic defense. If they lose by double-digits, so be it. Take the Bears.
