SMU -4 over Louisville (win)
Louisville starting QB Miller Moss was questionable the last few days; he will not play. We have seen no fluctuation in the betting line despite the public being more on the SMU side. In addition to the starting QB being out, the Cardinals are without running backs Isaac Brown and Keyjuan Brown. Deuce Adams and Brady Allen will get time at quarterback today. Adams has never thrown a TD pass, and neither QB has been very mobile in their short playing time. The Cardinals have a veteran offensive line, but they are one of the lighter units in the country. SMU has an experienced QB in Kevin Jennings and a more reliable running game led by T.J. Harden. I like the Mustangs on both sides of the ball a bit more today. Wagering on a heavy public favorite is never fun because shady things happen. Still, Louisville is severely limited offensively, and if they end up finding a way to beat the Mustangs on the road, then so be it. It’s hard to pass up a team in a spot to possibly get into an ACC Title Game, playing against a team with so many injuries on offense. Take SMU.

Vanderbilt -8.5 over Kentucky (win)
Vanderbilt/Kentucky Over 54.5 (win)
Vanderbilt is on pace for a nice bowl game as long as they continue to win. Kentucky is coming off a one-win campaign in the SEC last year. The Wildcats have improved this season, as their offense is much faster than the paint-drying pace they played at a year ago. Nobody on the Wildcats’ team would call a 2-5 SEC record a successful season, but they have improved. The Wildcats have a big offensive line and have quality running backs in Dante Dowdell and Seth McGowan. Cutter Boley is still just a first-year player and will improve in the offseason, especially if Kentucky picks up some offensive talent in the portal. Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia has turned the program around. The Commodores have quality running backs, including the quarterback’s mobility, and a talented receiving corps. Vanderbilt will look to pick on the Kentucky secondary that is missing a few starters. The Commodores are a balanced team that should be able to put up a lot of offense. Vanderbilt should run away with this contest at home. Take Vanderbilt. Take the Over. No Parlays.

Rotation # 142
Georgia Tech -2.5 over Pitt (loss)
Pitt freshman QB Mason Heintschel started his career with a bang, but finally came back to earth last week against Notre Dame. Now remember that’s Notre Dame we are talking about, so you can’t take much away from it. Pitt running back Desmond Reid has been in and out of the lineup all year and was hurt again last week; he won’t play today. Georgia Tech is on a fairytale campaign, sitting at 9-1 and possibly looking to play for the ACC Title. Senior QB Haynes King has been great. The dual threat ability he brings to the table is a nightmare to prepare for. The 1-2 punch of Jamal Haynes and Malachi Hosley is hard to stop, and when a defense focuses on stopping the run, King pops a pass for a long gain. We will see how the young Pitt QB responds as he hits the road after his first slip-up of the year. I expect the Yellow Jackets’ defense to get back on track. Take Georgia Tech.

Rotation # 165
Arizona State -7 over Colorado (win)
Both teams enter the game with different starting QBs from opening day. Colorado will start freshman Julian Lewis. Lewis has yet to show any mobility, so I don’t see him fooling the Arizona State front seven with his legs. Arizona State will start veteran journeymen Jeff Sims. Sims’ career wasn’t supposed to fizzle out into a backup role, but he has a few more games to show the college football world his talent. Sims started many games during his career and is very mobile. The Sun Devils could get receiver Jordyn Tyson back, which would be a big boost to the receivers’ room. Colorado is missing so much in the secondary that they have run out of cornerbacks. The Buffs are not a good team this year, and even coming off a bye, they don’t have the firepower to compete. Arizona State’s chances of a BIG 12 Title game are slimmer than slim, but they will compete until the end. Look for QB Jeff Sims to have one last bright-lights moment in his long career, which has spanned many different conferences and time zones. Take Arizona State.
